Potpuri Comunity Night

The Potpuri team is returning to Park Platz for a community night with Balkan Food, Film Screening (plus a Q&A with the director) and Music Performance. Hajde!

While we’re deep in the important work of figuring out how to function as a collective and how to bring another edition of our newspaper into the world, we’re taking a moment to gather and we’d love for you to join us.

Potpuri has different meanings to the people involved: Someone comes to meet people and escape loneliness. Someone to finally have a space for their political voice. Someone to contribute to something bigger and breathe away from money-jobs.
With all these layers of reasons and struggles, we keep asking ourselves: What keeps us moving through the individualistic streets of Zurich?

And it always goes back to the community we’ve created: The warmth, the support, the feeling that we’re not alone in this city that at times can feel exclusive.

So tell your people and join us for Balkan food, a movie screening, a conversation with the director, and live music. Hajde <3 

Dinner: Our beloved Njomza with the help of other Potpuri members will take over the kitchen on this night and prepare some delicious mantia for us. You can order meat, vegetarian or vegan ones.

Screening of Aga's House and interview with the director: A nine-year-old boy raised in a house full of women is determined to find his missing father, a man who he believes disappeared after the war in Kosova. The five women he shares a home with meanwhile carry the burdens of their own wartime traumas, finding common ground in the stories, songs and jokes they share.

Shtrigat: a Zurich-based songwriter and artist. We tried to put them in a box, but their art is made to break free from any boundaries. Their music carries expressions of emotional landscapes and is sung in three languages: Albanian, English, and German. Sonically, it moves between dark sounds and upbeat rhythms. We leave it to you to join and be taken on a journey that is all about the crucial moments of our lives.
